About Eileen

I help authors bridge the gap between writing a great book and getting it discovered.

Eileen Thornton, author marketing strategist

Publishing a book is one achievement.

Getting the right readers to notice it is another.

My work focuses on that second challenge.

I specialize in Goodreads promotion, reader discovery, Amazon advertising, and backlist marketing, helping authors create practical promotional systems around the books they've already worked so hard to publish.

I don't approach marketing as a numbers game where every book gets the same checklist. I look at the book, the genre, the audience, the existing reader response, and the opportunities available around it. Then I build the strategy from there.

My Approach

Reader-first. Strategy-led. Evidence-based.

I believe book marketing works best when promotion begins with understanding the reader.

Instead of asking:

"How can we promote this everywhere?"

I ask:

"Where are the readers most likely to care about this book?"

That question changes everything.

What I Look For

Reader Discovery

Where are readers already finding books similar to yours?

Positioning

What makes your book relevant to a specific audience?

Opportunity

Which Goodreads lists, groups, audiences, search terms, comparable books, and advertising opportunities make sense?

Momentum

How can promotion continue after the initial release period?

Backlist Potential

Which older books can be brought back into the conversation?

My Promise

I won't promise that every reader will buy your book.

I won't promise a specific number of reviews.

And I won't tell you your book is guaranteed to become a bestseller.

What I can promise is a thoughtful promotional process built around real reader behavior and genuine discoverability opportunities.
